My doctor told me that is was okay to use hydro cortisone cream and a

steroid cream for my eczema during pregnancy...this sounds absurd to me, did anyone else ever use any of this. Normally I wouldn't even think of it, but my eczema is soooo bad right now, I normally only get a little patch on my elbow in dry weather, but it is flaring up everywhere right now. I'm 4 months and I don't want to do anything stupid. He is a great doctor, the one that all the women in my area try to go to because he has been doing it for 30 years and never had anything bad happen, but this just doesn't sound right to me. What do you think? My doctor told me that is was okay to use hydro cortisone cream and a
I was also told it was safe to use hydrocorisone cream for eczema when I was pregnant. Not sure about the steroid cream though. I'd get a 2nd opinion if you're worried. My doctor told me that is was okay to use hydro cortisone cream and a
Topical steroids are VERY minimally absorbed by the body. Taking oral corticosteroids might be of concern, but used locally they are normally considered safe. Use the lowest concentration that will work for you, for as brief a time as will be effective.
My little one used that when she had a bad diaper rash caused my some cheap diapers that she was allergic to. All can say about that stuff is that is is good. It is used to treat all kinds of rashes and it really works. IF your doctor prescribed it to you then it that was good because it will get rid of it!! Congrats on the pregnancy!
I am using hydro cortisone cream i think 10% the lowest one they have for my eczema and my son is 9 months I was told it was safe to use on him and have just about daily since he was a new born ( 8 weeks) I do use a special one they mix just for him but it has hydro cortisone cream in it and I use the store brand one as well.

I'm 15 weeks along by the way we all have it pretty bad. My hubby has it too he's in denial thinks he's just ashy but he has it you know how men are. I was also told that you need to use a thin layer because it can make your skin thin and discolored and make the rashes more raw. Getting low grade 10 precent or lower hydro cortisone is fine. I have so many tubes all over my car and my son always has some at day care and in his diaper bag too. I did use it when I was preg. with him as well. Also it's genetic so there is a chance baby may have it too. But that's another story.
I am right with you my eczema is really bad too, I went to the doctor to get some more cream for it when I was about six weeks prego and the doctor that I saw prescribed me a steroid cream. I think of it like ';well he knew I was pregnant and he still gave it to me, so it has to be alright';.....I would say to just use it when you really need it and not to overuse it. Hope your skin gets better, I know it can be frustrating.
