Can you apply cortisone cream to open split skin?

dermatitis, skin dry it has split open like big cuts. Can I use the cream on it?Can you apply cortisone cream to open split skin?
From my experience, as a medic in a shipyard for 10 years, we had people that work in cold weather conditions and split wounds as a result from dry skin was common. Cortisone is usually applied as it is just a popular shelf item that people use such as triple antibiotic but is not always the best remedy. If you have truly have dermatitis then antibiotics may be required. I don't know what you were subjected to cause dermatitis, perhaps a skin sensitivity to something. If it's just a case of dry skin causing your skin to crack, try using a water barrier cream. Your skin type may require frequent use of lotion to keep skin moisturized. Cortisone might not really help you, as I believe a triple antibiotic ointment might be better and cover your cuts until it resolves:)Can you apply cortisone cream to open split skin?
Yes you can.
