I have a fresh scar that is itchy. Should I use Vitamin E, cortisone cream or neosporin? ?

I was wondering if any of these are unsafe to use on a fresh scar, as in had surgery a week ago and still have stitches. BTW, the scar is on my navel that was fixed from breast reconstruction due to a mastectomy. It's small, but the itching is maddening at times.I have a fresh scar that is itchy. For the itch, cortisone, or any other corticosteriod cream will help. If the itch is very bad, try taking some oral antihistamines. You should also bathe in cold/lukewarm water - avoid hot water.I have a fresh scar that is itchy. Should I use Vitamin E, cortisone cream or neosporin? ?
i would use neosporin. just be sure to clean the area well first, by patting with a cloth with warm water and/or peroxide (or, whichever cleaning instructions your doctor gave you).

vitamin e would be great to use, but i would wait until the stitches are out.
My daughter at age 4 burned her stomack with hot coffee. We used Vit E once day and also Neosporin at different tme day. Looks good today. If allowed to be wet a wrm wet cloth may ease it some. It will be lots etter after stitches out.
This stuff works the best.
