I've been stuck in bed going on my 3rd day unable to walk properly, sit properly or bend over at all. I've tried: heat, cold, vicodin, aleeve, massage. I don't know what to do. I'm trying to think outside the box here.
Cortisone shots help with inflamation, would hydrocortisone cream do the same?
Does anyone have any other home remedy suggestions? I currently don't have medical insurance so I cannot afford to go to the doctor. Most likely they would only give me pain killers, an x-ray, and tell me not to move.
Please, I cannot keep relying on my mother to stay with me and take care of me. Does anyone have any suggestions? Would the cream work?
Thank you all for your time.My sciatica nerve is inflamed. Will rubbing hydro-cortisone cream on the area help reduce the inflamation?
I had the same problem! No, a cream won't work, but taking Motrin will take away the inflamation. Try laying on your back and doing leg lifts and hold it for the count of 10. Both legs. Several times. Then, with your arms extended to the side, laying on your back, roll your hips/legs to each side and hold for a count of 10. Do that several times for each side. I went to physical therapy for a while and those exercises REALLY helped me! Good luck sweetie! I know it's painful and frustrating! My sciatica nerve is inflamed. creme isnt going to help a strained nerve i think the best result ive had is massage, a good elbow is always handy
hydrocortisone oint rubbing is not effective to reduce sciatica and is not advisable as it may harm you. take bed rest apply hot water bottle and no bending forward along with analgesics will surely help you.
I hurt mine at least once a year cutting wood, I use to use all the back pills, ice packs, and take advice from everyone, UNTIL: i went to a chiropractor, I was as scared as heck going because of the pain i was in, but it did work, Do as you wish , but this worked for me.......And Kimmie is also right..
Best thing to reduce inflammation would be an ice pack.
